The Tent

The Tent can accommodate 200 guests comfortably. It has a full floor, dance floor, and a draped ceiling with chandeliers, and includes sidewalls and heaters. Our Tent season starts in mid-May and ends with the first weekend in October.  Wedding ceremonies take place on the lawn and are moved into the reception space in inclement weather. Rental of the tent includes use of the Lakeside Cottage.

The Restaurant

Hart House Restaurant's main dining room is available for exclusive buyout bookings and can accommodate up to 80 guests seated, and 100 reception-style. In the summer months this includes access to one of the Lower Mainland's most gorgeous patios.
The restaurant features four fireplaces, a bar and a sound system for background music and speeches.

The Rosedale Room

The Rosedale Room is located on the second floor and seats up to 64 guests at round tables (80 at rectangular tables). It has windows overlooking Deer lake, a fireplace and a separate bar area.

The Lakeside Cottage

The Lakeside Cottage is perfect for groups of 10 and 32 guests. It is located a short distance from the main restaurant. This venue has a fireplace , private washroom facilities and offers access to the lawn for receptions, lawn games and small wedding ceremonies. The rental includes a small sound system for background music inside the room.

Our booking times are 10:30am to 3:30pm, or 5:00pm to 12:00am. Earlier start times are option for evening bookings with increased rental fees and minimum guarantees. Available times may vary based on prior reservations. We guarantee access time for decor two hours before the scheduled event time. Earlier access is optional under certain conditions and can be arranged with sales management.

Hart House Restaurant provides an event manager and a professional service team.  Tables, chairs, white square linens including cloth napkins and china and flatware, as well as all stemware are included. Floor length linens can be added with an additional  fee. We provide additional tables such as guest book table,  gift or cake table as required. If you wish to select different types of chairs or linens we are happy to provide vendor recommendations and rental information.

Vendors & Décor
We will gladly provide a list of recommended vendors ranging from decorators to wedding commissioners; please note that Hart House has a list of DJs that must be selected from. Our linens are square white. Floor-length tablecloths are available for an additional fee or provided by your decorator.

Our experienced event planners will assist you in arranging the details of your special day. We will work with you to customize your menu, wine choices, itinerary and all the little touches that will help to ensure that your wedding is magical. With many years of experience in fine dining and event planning, we are committed to flawless service.

Our Sommeliers strive to enhance your dining experience by providing custom selections  to pair with your wedding reception menu. From BC to Australia and back to France, our extensive wine program allows us to provide you with the finest wines the world has to offer.

Our Executive Chef designs all menus sustainably and with quality ingredients to create a fantastic dining experience. Our menu features Pacific Northwest Cuisine with a focus on the freshest regional and seasonal produce. Hart House Restaurant is a proud member of Ocean Wise.

Menu Planning
All menu details are finalized one month prior to the event. If a plated menu is chosen, main course choices must be pre-ordered and submitted to Hart House no later than 10 days prior to the event. We recommend scheduling at least one face-to-face meeting with one of our planners before invitations are printed and mailed. Menu prices are subject to change; the availability of menu items can vary depending on the season. In lieu of menu tastings, we offer a complimentary dinner for the bride and groom in our restaurant, once the wedding is confirmed. This offer is subject to confirmed events with a minimum guarantee, and applies to food only.
Hart House Restaurant provides all food and beverages, with the exception of wedding cakes. A fee of $2.00 per person applies to the cutting and plating of wedding cakes. No charge will apply to cupcakes or fake cakes. Food and beverage minimums apply to all bookings.

Hart House Restaurant offers outdoor wedding ceremonies on the estate grounds overlooking Deer Lake between May and September. Hart House provides all ceremony set-up including chairs and a signing table. We gladly recommend wedding officiants for any type of ceremony.

Bride’s Room
Hart House includes the use of a complimentary bride’s room only for Tented events and restaurant buyouts. The room is available one hour before the contracted booking time.

A 30 minute ceremony rehearsal is permitted on the lawns, subject to availability, at no additional cost. All rehearsals are self-conducted.
